Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

UPDATE: May 19, 2020

Penna Orthodontics can now see all types of patients.

To our Penna Orthodontics Family -

We are excited to announce that our office is now able to see all types of appointments, but at a reduced capacity for the time being. Thank you for your patience. We are so excited to see you!

Three very important things to note:

1. Click below to download and print the Supplemental Informed Consent form. Bring it with you to your next appointment.

 3. Please watch the video as it explains the types of appointments we will be seeing and the protocols we have put in place to protect you and your staff.

APPOINTMENTS

Over the next few weeks, we have increased the number of days we are working in order for you to be seen as quickly as possible.

We will call you to reschedule. We will work from the earliest canceled appointment date to the most recent (i.e., if you had an appointment canceled on March 20th, you will be called before someone who had an appointment on March 30th).

Again, please be patient and wait for us to contact you. However, as a failsafe, if you have not heard from our office by May 29th, please call us.

When we call you to reschedule, we will ask one or two questions, depending on your treatment:

  1. Everybody – Have you watched our COVID Update Video? (see above)
  2. Braces patients – Have you and/or your child checked for broken brackets?

BRACES PATIENTS and BROKEN BRACKETS

We are unable to fix broken brackets if we do not know about them ahead of time. If you do not give us advance notice of a broken bracket during the rescheduling process, you will need to come back to the office for an additional appointment. This is an infection control issue, not a convenience issue on our end, so we appreciate your understanding.

EXTENDED TREATMENT CONCLUSION DATES

Given the delay of 8 weeks, you should plan on your treatment extending 1–2 months beyond the expected treatment conclusion date. We are truly sorry about this. Know that your beautiful and lasting smile will be worth the wait!

PATIENTS WITH RETAINERS

Finally, for those patients wearing retainers, we will reach out to reschedule your appointment. Please know that we will be pushing retainer checks out 3–4 months in order to make room in the schedule for those undergoing active orthodontic treatment. That said, if you are having a problem with your retainer (or you have lost them), please give us a call ASAP.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and support! We have missed you!

Dr. Penna and your entire Penna Orthodontics Team
